Lieder Ohne worte Op.19b No.1
BY Felix Mendelssohn
Arranged for harp Duet
A flowing, elegant arrangement of one of Mendelssohn's short and elegant songs without words. The arrangement is for two harps, with harp 1 carrying the melody and the bass, and harp 2 providing arpeggiation. This work is appropriate for intermediate level students who are comfortable with some pedaling, and would be a quick piece to put together for professionals. Mendelssohn published eight volumes of Lieder one Worte during his lifetime, and this particular work is the first work in the first published volume, likely composed between 1829 and 1830.
