Francesco Paolo Tosti- la serenata

ARRANGED FOR SOPRANO (OR TREBLE INSTRUMENT) AND HARP

This energetic work by Italian song composer Paolo Tosti (1846-1916) features a text by librettist Giovanni Alfredo Cesareo about a lover’s words to the window of his beloved.  The harp accompaniment rhythmically propels this piece with strong arpeggiated figures, and is comfortable and enjoyable to play.  This flexible arrangement can be performed on a recital as a harp and voice duet, or adapted for any harp and treble instrument combination to sight-read at gigs.

Instrumentation: Flexible-- Soprano and Harp, or Treble Instrument and Harp

Difficulty: Intermediate
