Amore e Morte (Love and Death, 1837) is a somber arietta from Soirées d’automne à l’Infrascata, a collection of 4 songs and 2 duets for voice and piano by operatic composer Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848). This brief and sorrowful work features a text offering a message to his love, Elvira, on his death bed. The harp accompaniment features slow figuration that is comfortable and sight-readable. This flexible arrangement can be performed on a recital as a harp and voice duet, or customized for any harp and treble instrument combination at gigs.
